Droogie Otis (Madlib & Your Old Droog) – Woodstock 2029 ft. Wiz Khalifa & Jay Electronica

Droogie Otis dropped “Woodstock 2029” today featuring Jay Electronica and Wiz Khalifa. Droogie Otis is the duo name for Madlib and Your Old Droog, who’ve been building toward a full album expected before year’s end.

Madlib’s production gives everyone room to work. He builds a widescreen pocket with distant vocal samples and whirling melodies. The drums knock while textures swirl around them. Three distinct voices trade verses without stepping on each other: Your Old Droog’s pungent delivery, Wiz Khalifa’s laid-back flow, and Jay Electronica’s dense, sermon-like approach.

“Woodstock 2029” is brought to you by Beat Konducta LLC and Secretly Distribution. It follows previous singles “Everything Designer” with Boldy James and “The Edge” with Killer Mike. Each release shows more of what the Droogie Otis project is shaping up to be.

No specific release date yet for the Droogie Otis album, but the duo has mentioned it should arrive later this year. Based on these three singles, fans have good reason to be excited.
